- Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to maintain public safety.
- Provide support and assistance to the community through community policing initiatives.
- Must be 21 years of age at time of graduation from the Vermont Police Academy.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check, including a polygraph, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-3 (MMPI-3) screening, medical examination, and drug test.
- Must be physically fit to perform all duties assigned to a Police Officer.
Police officers work in a variety of environments, including climate-controlled buildings and outdoors during inclement weather. They operate vehicles in inclement weather and may have to stand for periods up to hours.
Union StatusNon-Exempt - Member of New England Police Benevolent Association Local #412 after probationary period.
