Job Overview

Carter Lumber is seeking a skilled Sales Representative to join our team. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with customers, identifying sales opportunities, and providing exceptional customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, including contractors, builders, and remodelers
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities, including finding and completing sales of building materials and installed services
  • Manage customer accounts, including collecting and keeping up-to-date information on product use and trends
  • Visit job sites as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and identify new sales opportunities
  • Maintain schedules and put out fires as needed


Requirements

  • Experience in sales, preferably in the building materials industry
  • Knowledge of home building basics, including reading blueprints and providing material take-off lists
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
