We are seeking a skilled Mold Setter to join our team at Sonoco, a leading global packaging solutions company. As a Mold Setter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our products.
Key Responsibilities- Mold Changes and Maintenance: Perform mold changes, including the removal and installation of tools, air lines, fill guns, and material supply hoses.
- Mold Evaluation and Repair: Inspect and evaluate mold tools, move molds to designated locations based on evaluation results, and conduct minor mold repairs and maintenance on the press.
- Fill Gun Maintenance: Rebuild, repair, and test fill guns to ensure optimal performance.
- Quality Control: Verify mold tool installation and perform test runs to ensure quality standards are met.
- Supply Chain Management: Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for fill gun repairs and mold maintenance.
- Operational Efficiency: Operate PIT and document safety checks, complete and maintain records according to production and quality standards, and perform preventative maintenance.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of manufacturing and storage areas using 5S standards.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; 2-4 year technical degree preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of equipment and the molding/expansion process, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems, maintenance programs, and proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and other MS office applications.
- Personal Qualities: Strong communication and organization skills, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production setting.
