Job Summary

The Scottsdale Unified School District 48 is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Childcare Provider 2 to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting the Childcare Specialist with the planning and implementation of the before and after school program, as well as supervising children at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, employees, and community members.
  • Prepare the site and activities prior to children's arrival.
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Administer first aid when necessary.
  • Maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Communicate effectively with the Childcare Specialist and other team members.
  • Participate in clean-up activities and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Complete annual training requirements to meet department of Health Services regulations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Meet the staff qualifications to be a teacher-caregiver under section R of the Arizona Administrative Code.
  • Be at least 18 years old and provide written documentation of one of the following:
    • A high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and six months of qualifying child care experience.
    • At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least 6 credits in early childhood education and 6 months of qualifying childcare experience.
    • N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
  • Hold current first aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain within 30 days.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping.
Working Conditions

The work environment is a school setting, with occasional exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds occasionally.
