Job Title: WatchmakerThe Watchmaker is a key member of our team at Hamilton Jewelers, responsible for delivering exceptional client experiences through expert watch repair, problem resolution, and product knowledge.
This role may require working weekends, holidays, and peak sales periods.
- Disassemble watches to examine mechanisms for defective parts and repair or replace them as needed.
- Utilize hand tools and machines to repair broken, damaged, or worn parts.
- Repair quartz and automatic watches, including battery replacement.
- Polish, clean, and adjust watches using specialized tools and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date on Material Safety Data Sheets and maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide accurate and timely communication to clients regarding repair status and progress.
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of workmanship and products.
- Update repair status in the Point of Sale system and manage internal client service issues.
- Maintain knowledge of product lines and sources, and ensure compliance with company documentation.
- Participate in regular staff training and in-store vendor training sessions to stay current.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding repairs and store operations.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong product knowledge and understanding of watch mechanics.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Security awareness and adherence to company standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
