Job Summary

The Channel Islands YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Educator to join our team. This role requires strong leadership and instructional skills, with a focus on creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels.

About the Role

As an Aquatic Educator at the Channel Islands YMCA, you will be responsible for designing and delivering swim lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our members. You will work closely with our team to ensure that every student feels welcome and supported throughout their swimming journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective swim lesson plans that promote student progress and achievement.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a positive experience for every member.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve program offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and certifications.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum 16 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a related field preferred.
  • Certification as a swim instructor through the YMCA USA within 90 days of hire.
