About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor to teach sociology courses at Mt. San Antonio College. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to the college's mission of providing quality education.

Job Summary

This is a temporary, hourly as-needed position without permanent status. The successful candidate will teach introduction to sociology, race and ethnicity, social justice, and/or criminology courses in our Dual Enrollment Program. You will be part of a dynamic team of educators who are passionate about teaching and learning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach sociology courses in our Dual Enrollment Program
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve student outcomes
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in sociology or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in sociology and master's degree in a related field (anthropology, ethnic studies, social work, or psychology)
  • Equivalent qualifications (if requesting an equivalency, please answer the supplemental questions included in the application)
  • Commitment to the community college goals and objectives
  • Personal qualities to work effectively and sensitively in a multicultural environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching sociology courses
  • Familiarity with community college teaching and learning environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
License(s) & Other Requirements
  • Valid California Community College credential (if applicable)
  • Health and welfare requirements (not applicable)
