Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Aide to join our Food and Nutrition team at Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England. As a Sanitation Aide, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Service Operations: Load and deliver food trucks to patient floors, unload and load dish machine, and perform pot washing duties.
  • Trash Removal and Recycling: Dispose of trash, garbage, and cardboard boxes in proper receptacles and deliver to loading dock trash storage area as required.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean pots and pans using manual and automatic dish machine cleaning procedures, unload dishes from dish machine, and deliver meal trays to patient rooms.
  • Food Truck Management: Deliver and pickup food trucks from patient floor per schedules, and clean and sanitize food trucks after each meal period.
  • General Cleaning: Complete cleaning of assigned work areas, including special cleaning assignments as required, and stock up work areas in kitchen, dish room, and cafeteria as needed.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Requires working in areas of increased temperature, lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs., bending, and pulling.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in written and verbal English.
