Definition
Under the general oversight of the Custodial Supervisor, this role involves executing a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks across various community facilities, including medical and clinical settings. This position is classified as FLSA non-exempt and is considered a DRIVING role, requiring availability for on-call and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts a variety of cleaning duties such as vacuuming, carpet extraction, floor scrubbing, mopping, stripping, waxing, and polishing floors, washing windows and equipment, dusting and polishing furniture, sanitizing restroom facilities, and ensuring custodial supplies are adequately stocked.
- Prepares cleaning solutions and solvents as necessary for assigned tasks, following established protocols.
- Maintains an organized inventory of cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies at the designated work site, promptly notifying the Lead Custodian or Custodial Supervisor when reordering is required.
- Adheres to safety practices while performing all tasks, demonstrating knowledge of Safety Data Sheets, bloodborne pathogens, proper equipment usage, and personal protective equipment.
- Facilitates the delivery of items for other custodial personnel, including necessary supplies and materials.
- Engages in additional job-related duties that support and enhance departmental operations.
- Knowledge of the history, culture, laws, and customs relevant to the SRPMIC.
- Understanding of the Public Works Department's operations and responsibilities.
- Familiarity with safe handling and usage of custodial chemicals.
- Proficiency in operating custodial equipment, including buffers and vacuums.
- Awareness of general custodial maintenance practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Capability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
All candidates must undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
