Role Overview
The Psychiatrist, licensed in Illinois, will play a crucial role in delivering consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals within the correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:

  • Collaborate effectively with patients and their families, as well as with dental, medical, and support staff.
  • Conduct onsite psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for inmates referred by medical or clinical staff.
  • Document comprehensive summaries of patient history, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
  • Screen inmates prior to placement in community correctional facilities and evaluate those for potential transfer to psychiatric treatment centers.
  • Provide psychiatric services for the inpatient Mental Health Unit, including assessment, diagnostic procedures, treatment planning, and ongoing reviews of assigned inmates.
  • Offer psychiatric services for inmates in the general population requiring regular mental health follow-up.
