The Pump and Engine Maintenance Technician at the Borger Refinery will be tasked with the upkeep of various rotating machinery and will oversee the diagnosis and repair of an array of equipment including pumps, steam turbines, gearboxes, fans, blowers, mixers, reciprocating engines, and compressors. This role ensures that all machinery is installed according to industry standards within the refinery.

The starting pay rate is competitive, based on experience and skills, beginning at $46.91/hour, with the potential to achieve top craft pay within a specified timeframe.

This position necessitates the successful completion of an online assessment. Qualified candidates will receive a link to the assessment via email after submitting their application. It is important to check your spam folder if the email is not visible. The assessment must be completed within a designated period from the application date. If you have previously taken a Phillips 66 assessment, a retake is required for this position.

Successful candidates will also need to complete a pre-employment due diligence process, which includes background checks and medical evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of pumps, steam turbines, gearboxes, fans, blowers, mixers, reciprocating engines, and compressors.
  • Repairing mechanical seals.
  • Installing and adjusting packing.
  • Aligning equipment to industry standards using precision tools.
  • Utilizing hydraulic and pneumatic tools effectively.
  • Operating both motorized and manual equipment.
  • Performing physical tasks that may include lifting, twisting, and working in confined spaces.
  • Entering and managing data using computer systems.
  • Utilizing fire safety equipment when necessary and engaging in general maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and around high-speed machinery.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform firefighting duties.
  • Ability to read and understand safety and operational procedures.
  • Willingness to learn software related to process operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical certification in Pump & Engine Mechanics.
  • Associate's Degree in Industrial Machinery Maintenance.
  • Experience in pump, compressor, or engine maintenance.
  • Military experience in related fields.
  • Experience in a refinery or chemical industry setting.
  • Familiarity with ERP Maintenance modules.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
