About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at UT Southwestern Medical Center. This is a full-time opportunity with competitive pay ($38,000 - $45,000 per year) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff, ensuring only tasks performed have been validated through training and/or competency assessment.
  • Collect, monitor, and document pertinent data relating to patient functioning and care, including but not limited to: intake and output, weight, temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
  • Perform patient rounding, reporting any changes in a patient's condition or behavior immediately to the nurse.
  • Assess, identify, and monitor environmental, patient, and family needs in a respectful, positive, and timely manner to achieve satisfaction.
  • Perform basic hygiene care in accordance with Department of Nursing policies, procedures, and unit standards, including but not limited to pericare, oral care, daily hygiene, linen changes, skin changes, and foley care.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licenses and Certifications: (CNA) CERT NURSE ASSISTANT certificate or completed the PCT residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center or completed Nursing Fundamentals and skills course in nursing school; (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
