Occupational Therapist Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Douglasville, Georgia. This full-time position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students by providing essential therapy services within a supportive school environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' skills and abilities, encompassing areas such as oral motor function, sensory integration, motor planning, fine motor skills, developmental milestones, reflexes, and range of motion.
  • Prepare detailed reports summarizing assessment findings, clearly outlining the student's strengths and areas for growth.
  • Effectively communicate assessment results to parents and IEP teams, ensuring a shared understanding of the student's needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with students, families, and school staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote motor skill development and academic success.
  • Monitor student progress closely, providing regular updates to parents and teachers on their achievements and areas requiring continued support.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and insights to the development and refinement of short-term and long-term goals for each student.
Qualifications:
  • Active Georgia state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing occupational therapy services, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the principles of occupational therapy practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
