Team Insight:

Become a vital member of our Transportation Civil Engineering Division, a vibrant team dedicated to roadways, rail, transportation structures, and construction management. Your structural engineering expertise will be crucial in leading projects and guiding junior team members. This position offers opportunities for advancement into a leadership role overseeing the structural engineering division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct structural design for transportation infrastructures, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and overhead signage.
  • Manage structure condition assessments, design and inspection reports, studies, and construction documentation.
  • Facilitate business development: identify opportunities, engage potential clients, and lead proposal submissions.
  • Design structural elements for bridges and related structures of varying complexities.
  • Estimate costs and create components for contract drawings and construction sequences.
  • Conduct load ratings and analyses.
  • Guide junior team members.
  • Act as project manager, ensuring project timelines, budget compliance, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
Qualifications

Must-Have:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil/structural engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant position.
  • PE license in any state with the capability to obtain in Maryland within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience leading structural engineering projects for DOT and Rail/Transit Agencies.
  • Familiarity with MDOT Maryland Transit Authority (MTA) or Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).
  • Hands-on experience in preparing/reviewing technical proposals for state and local government projects.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., LARS, STAAD, MicroStation).
  • Proven success in managing projects.
