ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a Formulation Scientist, you will be instrumental in spearheading research and development initiatives aimed at creating safe, high-quality, and innovative cosmetic products. Your responsibilities will include the formulation and development of new products, enhancement of existing formulations, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and formulate new cosmetic products that align with company goals and market demands.
- Conduct research and experimentation to refine existing formulations and innovate new cosmetic ingredients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Research and Development, Quality Assurance, and Production, to guarantee product quality and consistency.
- Perform stability assessments and analyses to validate product effectiveness and longevity.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and advancements in cosmetic chemistry to guide product development strategies.
- Source, evaluate, and select ingredients based on safety, efficacy, and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain precise documentation, including formulation records, batch records, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide technical assistance to manufacturing teams during the scaling and production phases.
- Engage in regulatory compliance activities, including ingredient safety evaluations, label assessments, and product registrations.
- Troubleshoot technical challenges related to product formulation, stability, and manufacturing processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience as a Cosmetic Chemist within the beauty sector.
A minimum of 2-4 years in cosmetic formulation development.
Comprehensive knowledge of cosmetic raw materials, ingredients, and formulation methodologies.
Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques pertinent to cosmetic product development and analysis.
Familiarity with regulatory standards for cosmetic products (e.g., FDA) and experience in conducting cosmetic ingredient safety evaluations.
In-depth understanding of cosmetic chemistry, raw materials, formulation techniques, and industry regulations.
