Job Title: Associate Medical PhysicistInova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Associate Medical Physicist to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Associate Medical Physicist will play a crucial role in the investigation and evaluation of medical equipment, ensuring new treatment imaging techniques are implemented safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain contacts with physicists in other practices to stay up-to-date on best practices and new technologies.
- Collaborate with physicians to ensure patient dosages are accurate and equipment evaluation is thorough.
- Oversee acceptance testing of new or renovated medical equipment and imaging networks.
- Investigate and evaluate new equipment and improvements in existing equipment to reduce costs and downtime.
- Intercompare data with other radiation therapy institutions to stay current with clinical and dosimetric literature.
- Attend hospital committees, such as the Radiation Safety Committee, to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Maintain professional working relationships with Department Directors and Medical Directors.
- Master's Degree in Physical Science.
- Eligibility to take the American Board of Radiology certification.
- Ability to submit to become a VA state inspector in the subject specialty.
