Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Associate Medical Physicist to join our team.

The Associate Medical Physicist will play a crucial role in the investigation and evaluation of medical equipment, ensuring new treatment imaging techniques are implemented safely and effectively.

• Develop and maintain contacts with physicists in other practices to stay up-to-date on best practices and new technologies.
• Collaborate with physicians to ensure patient dosages are accurate and equipment evaluation is thorough.
• Oversee acceptance testing of new or renovated medical equipment and imaging networks.
• Investigate and evaluate new equipment and improvements in existing equipment to reduce costs and downtime.
• Intercompare data with other radiation therapy institutions to stay current with clinical and dosimetric literature.
• Attend hospital committees, such as the Radiation Safety Committee, to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Maintain professional working relationships with Department Directors and Medical Directors.

• Master's Degree in Physical Science.
• Eligibility to take the American Board of Radiology certification.
• Ability to submit to become a VA state inspector in the subject specialty.
