Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at HexaQuEST Health, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, identifying, and labeling venous and capillary blood specimens from patients for healthcare providers at our patient service centers, main hospital facility, and various client sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and process venous and capillary blood samples required for laboratory analysis from patients of all ages upon request.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and stakeholders of the laboratory department.
  • Assist in training of phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel, as directed, in regards to obtaining, handling, and transport of specimens, and other areas related to phlebotomy.
  • Demonstrate compliance with corporate, departmental, and job-specific requirements.
  • Identify problems related to work activities, including involvement in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement efforts within the department.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilization of the hospital/laboratory information and technology systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school or equivalent (GED).
  • Training in phlebotomy procedures preferred.

Work Environment:

  • The employee is regularly required to bend, do fine motor, hear, and walk.
  • The employee is frequently required to do repetitive motion, reach, speak, squat, and stand.
  • The employee is occasionally required to drive, kneel, and sit.

Exposure to:

  • Bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
  • Airborne pathogens.
  • Electrical hazards - shock, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals.

Shifts: Monday through Friday, 8:45AM to 5:15PM
