General Summary: In collaboration with a supervising physician, the Physician Assistant delivers comprehensive patient care and education to a designated group of patients, adhering to established healthcare practice standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Tenet Healthcare.
- Comply with the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and maintain confidentiality as per the Privacy Standards Agreement.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by understanding compliance responsibilities outlined in the Code of Conduct; adhere to applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and corporate policies; and report any compliance issues promptly.
- Provide patient care services as per the physician's treatment plan under their supervision.
- Ensure all necessary documentation of patient care activities is completed in line with TPR policy.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the supervising physician.
- Notify the attending physician of any injuries or adverse reactions that occur during or following treatment.
- Engage in patient review meetings and collaborative staffing discussions.
- Assist the physician in various activities including Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, and Safety Committee initiatives.
- Follow established policies and procedures of Tenet Healthcare, interpreting laboratory test results as part of the physical examination and health management.
- Conduct and oversee necessary testing and procedures.
- Provide health education and counseling during physical examinations, empowering patients to make informed health and treatment decisions.
- Offer consultative guidance as needed for nursing, laboratory, and clinic support staff.
- Prescribe medications as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant master's program.
Certification: Must hold a valid Physician Assistant license in the state, be CPR certified, and have DEA registration.
Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant is required.
