Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for diagnosing and treating patients.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures, including waived, moderate, and highly complex tests, using both manual and automated methods.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, adhering to established quality control policies and procedures.
- Recognize age-specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics and ensure that testing is performed accordingly.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures, adhering to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.
- Supervise, if necessary, the work of medical technicians and laboratory assistants.
- May be assigned responsibilities related to Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Point-of-Care Testing (POCT).
- Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (or related field) from an accredited college.
- Meets the education and certification requirements for licensure and possesses a valid CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST (CLT) license from the State of Nevada (or is eligible to work while license is pending or provisional).
- Minimum 1-year Clinical Laboratory experience preferred, but will accept a new graduate.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Ability to work and problem-solve independently.
- Flexibility to work any shift as needed preferred.
