Job Summary
The Caregiver provides personal care and support to residents of Capri Senior Communities, adhering to organizational and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and nutritional needs.
- Provide assistance with preparing meals, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe physical environment.
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers.
- Administer medications and maintain related reporting requirements.
- Perform delegated tasks as instructed by the RN, Nurse Manager, or Executive Director.
- Lead or assist with activities for residents, as directed.
- Observe and report resident conditions and safety hazards to the RN, Nurse Manager, or Executive Director.
- Document observations and activity participation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain excellent work attendance and punctuality.
- Protect residents' health information according to HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional appearances, attitude, and demeanor while on duty.
- Stay up-to-date on State Regulations and updates for DHS 83 and 89.
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings and in-service training opportunities.
Qualifications
- High School education preferred, plus six months of experience as a personal aide or caregiver.
- Completion of CNA or CBRF certification (preferred).
- Reliability and flexibility in scheduling, with excellent attendance and ability to work holidays and weekends.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding, tolerance, and emotional/physical ability to meet the daily needs of residents.
- Government Compliance - knowledge of and compliance with all building regulations and DHS requirements.
- Resident Satisfaction - provide high-quality resident relations, review and resolve complaints, and alert the Nurse Manager of any unusual activities or problems.
- Quality, Safety, and Physical Condition - administer care that meets or exceeds company safety and physical condition standards.
