Job Summary:

The County of Northumberland is seeking a skilled Probation Officer to join our team. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals on probation or parole, helping them to achieve their personal, social, and economic goals in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and counsel individuals on probation or parole, providing guidance and support to help them adjust to community life.
Conduct investigations to determine if pre-parole plans are satisfactory, and make recommendations for improvement.
Maintain contact with families, friends, employers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective rehabilitation plans are in place.
Prepare regular reports of activities and contacts completed, and participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or equivalent experience.
Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and personal transportation.
Ability to work effectively with individuals, agencies, and the public, and to make clear and pertinent statements in writing and orally.
