Job Summary

The Kennel Assistant provides daily care, feeding, and exercise of boarding and hospitalized animals. This role requires attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals
  • Provide food, water, and exercise for boarding and hospitalized animals
  • Monitor animals' health and report any concerns to veterinarians and technicians
  • Interact with clients, answer questions, and provide information about animal care
  • Record and maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
  • Perform tasks such as cleaning, disinfecting, and laundry
  • Supervise animals in the yard and provide playtime and walks as needed
Requirements
  • Confidence around animals and pets
  • Knowledge of proper animal restraint techniques
  • Knowledge of infectious diseases and how to control and prevent their spread
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
