Job Title: Diesel Truck Shop Foreman

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Truck Shop Foreman to join our team at Interstate Companies Inc. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As a Diesel Truck Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for leading our service team and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of technicians and mechanics to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
  • Perform quality inspections on completed work to ensure it meets our high standards
  • Open and close repair orders, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed
  • Perform minor repairs and DOT inspections as needed
  • Assist technicians and mechanics with repairs, and provide guidance and training as needed
  • Teach, train, and mentor technicians and mechanics to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
  • Assist the service office with ensuring that all jobs are completed and next assignments are ready
  • Update customers and seek approvals as needed
  • Update software programs such as Uptime Pro with updated information
  • Perform general shop duties, including ordering and putting away shop supplies
  • Delegate duties to technicians and mechanics when there are no customer repairs to complete
  • Learn the Service Advisor role for Saturday rotation and if we are shorthanded in the office

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working with diesel engines and heavy duty trucks
  • Must have your own set of general tools
  • Strong knowledge of computers for diagnosis and repair order systems
  • Technical degree or certification a plus
  • Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions
  • Diesel engine certification-engine overhaul and diagnostics a must
  • CDL preferred but not required
