Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Orthopedic and Medical Surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care duties and activities for a group of patients, including vital sign checks, bladder scanning, blood sugar testing, and ambulation.
  • Document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards and department policies/procedures.
  • Communicate accurately and efficiently with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and reinforce patient education as advised by clinical staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of and follow all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
  • Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting.
  • Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program.
  • Current certification on the MN Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
