Job Description
Job Summary:
The Electrical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment. This role requires a high level of electrical expertise, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all electrical equipment is properly maintained, following established safety procedures, and that all personnel working on the equipment are aware of and follow these procedures.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly inspect and monitor equipment, completing reports on its condition and performance using manual and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Use technical knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Tool and Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain a range of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, measuring devices, and testing equipment.
- Quality and Safety: Identify and report any safety, quality, or operational issues that cannot be resolved, and ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Housekeeping and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company standards and ensuring that all equipment and tools are properly stored and secured.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field. Journeyman electrician certification is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies: Strong electrical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in PLC programming and experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
Work Environment:
- Physical Demands: The Electrical Maintenance Specialist will be required to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull. Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Work Environment: The employee will work in a manufacturing/industrial environment, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
