The Home Visitor - Family Support Specialist is a critical member of the Early Head Start team, providing comprehensive home-visiting services within a strength-based, family-centered model to expectant parents and families with young children.

This role involves assessing the strengths and needs of children and families, partnering with parents to establish family and child development goals, and supporting families in expanding their support systems.

The Home Visitor will provide observations of parent-child interactions, including assessing for effective communication and empathic responses, and engage parents in reflective dialogue on the developing parent-child relationship.

This position requires collaboration with other Early Head Start program staff, including Family Support Specialists, to link families with appropriate referrals and community supports.

Requirements include an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or a Home Visiting Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

Effective communication in both English and Spanish is required, and experience working with children and families is preferred.

Location:

This role is a hybrid position, with in-home services provided to families in the Kane and Kendall County Communities, and flexibility to support families in other locations.

The home office will be at the Jerri Hoffmann Child & Family Center.

Schedule:

This is a full-time, hourly position with general business hours and some flexibility required for evening family visits and special projects.
