This role involves working as a Cardiac Interventional Radiographer, where you will have the chance to enhance your cardiology knowledge and skills by learning about the electrophysiology of the heart. You will provide essential patient care to individuals undergoing cardiac catheterization, manage and operate specialized equipment, and perform fundamental cardiac catheterization procedures. In this dynamic position, you will assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided interventions aimed at diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases without the need for surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize advanced fluoroscopic equipment to capture images of the heart and surrounding blood vessels.
- Provide comprehensive patient care throughout the catheterization process.
- Assist in various cardiac catheterization procedures, requiring knowledge of over 15 different techniques and associated instruments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in scrubbing and circulating techniques to effectively support cardiac procedures.
- Operate respiratory and EKG equipment while possessing a solid understanding of cardiac and emergency protocols.
- Engage in direct patient care, with a preference for candidates who have additional cardiovascular experience.
Qualifications & Skills
• Basic Life Support certification is mandatory; Advanced Life Support certification may also be required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
• Completion of post-secondary coursework in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is required.
• Additional education in healthcare or biological sciences is preferred.
• Experience in noninvasive cardiovascular services or related technical patient care is highly valued.
