About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recreation Director to join our team at the Chico Area Recreation and Park District. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Recreation Division, ensuring the delivery of high-quality recreational programs and services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the District's goals and objectives
  • Provide administrative oversight and supervision to Recreation Division staff
  • Collaborate with other District divisions and external agencies to ensure a consistent approach to common projects and interests
  • Develop and manage budgets, including fiscal planning and control
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in recreational administration, including three years in a senior management role
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred
