Medical Waste Route Driver

Job Summary

The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts in a professional manner, ensuring customer needs are met on a continual basis for various waste pickup and supply delivery. This role will provide the highest level of customer service possible, transporting waste from Stericycle locations or customer sites to transfer or processing locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate waste pickup and delivery.
  • Transport waste safely according to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Plan daily schedules based on customer needs and follow routing software route schedules.
  • Prepare and load trucks to service select accounts, ensuring enough supplies are added.
  • Unload trucks at Stericycle and customer sites, securing waste and ensuring it is properly prepared for transport.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, communicating any issues to the Transportation Manager or Dispatcher for resolution.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and returned to the Transportation Supervisor or Dispatcher for processing.
Requirements
  • 6+ months of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
  • Valid standard driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a valid Medical Examiner Card (MED).
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals.
