Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Columbia Gorge Family Medicine. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examinations and verify patient information and history as needed.
  • Measure and record vital signs, and assist providers during patient exams and minor surgical procedures.
  • Administer and provide medication and immunizations as ordered, and stock and prepare exam rooms.
  • Clean, sterilize, and calibrate medical equipment, and perform tests and studies such as electrocardiograms and pulmonary function tests.
  • Collect specimens and maintain sample integrity, and record and report patient information in our electronic medical record system.
  • Handle medication refill requests and dispense educational materials to support health maintenance and promote understanding of tests and procedures.
  • Schedule tests and appointments, and follow through to ensure lab and x-ray reports are received and relayed to patients.
  • Return patient phone calls by the end of each business day, and perform injections, sterilize instruments, and administer medications as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
  • 2+ years of experience using Epic electronic medical record system.
  • Knowledge of basic medical assisting skills and relevant medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with patients, employees, and allied health professionals.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, and respond with patience and understanding during stressful and emergency situations.
  • CPR certification.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, working 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, in a clinic setting.
