Position Overview

The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing routine imaging tests essential for the diagnosis and management of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Conduct MRI imaging procedures adhering to established protocols.

2.

Ensure the maintenance of quality control standards.

3.

Possess comprehensive knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to MRI examinations and apparatus.

4.

Foster and maintain effective relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, and the community.

5.

Demonstrate understanding of concepts, standards, procedures, and equipment relevant to the role.

6.

Be prepared to work extended hours as required and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

7.

Implement all MRI safety protocols as outlined by the ACR.

8.

Uphold a safe and suitable working environment.

9.

Possess knowledge of basic patient care practices that may be necessary during imaging procedures.

10.

Attend mandatory meetings and contribute to committees as needed.

11.

Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive patient information.

12.

Collaborate effectively as a member of the imaging department and across other departments.

13.

Document work processes as required.

14.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of an accredited Radiology program.

Preferred:

None

Minimum Years of Experience:

Required:

At least two years of experience in Radiology; new graduates may be considered.

Preferred:

None

License, Registry or Certification:

Required:

National registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) with MRI Certification or
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
Current CPR/BLS certification for Health Care Providers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

Ability to accurately position patients for optimal imaging results.

Capacity to work independently.

Thorough understanding of MRI applications.

Proficiency in operating imaging equipment.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including managing interactions with challenging individuals.

Familiarity with current medical terminology.

Knowledge of imaging techniques for conducting routine tests.

Understanding of imaging equipment and testing for quality control and troubleshooting.

Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks.
