Wound Treatment Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Wound Treatment Nurse to join our team at Brickyard Healthcare. As a Wound Treatment Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing specialized nursing care to our residents, working closely with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Document resident progress in the medical record, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Notify the physician of new skin condition problems, changes in skin condition, and when skin conditions heal, documenting in the resident's plan of care.
  • Develop, update, and revise care plans as necessary, ensuring they align with the resident's needs and goals.
  • Follow Infection Control policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents.
  • Assist with admission and discharge of residents, providing education and support as needed.
  • Participate in patient education, Licensed Staff meetings, and facility/company training and educational activities, staying up-to-date on the latest wound care protocols and best practices.
  • Provide or assist with providing education to staff on wound care protocols, treatments, and interventions, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Follow facility policy and procedure for treatment and documentation of skin concerns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing, currently licensed by the State or hold a multistate license recognized through the Nursing Compact Recognition.
  • Must hold and maintain a current CPR certification.
  • Wound Certification is preferable (WCC, WOCN).
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance and meeting the physical demands of the role.
