Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the knowledge and skills of IEEE employees in various aspects of professional, business, leadership, and technical skills. This will be achieved through a range of instructional methods, including instructor-led training, on-the-job coaching, e-learning, distance learning, and the development of materials accessible to all IEEE employees. The ultimate goal is to increase employee efficiency and effectiveness in delivering business results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver training programs for all levels of staff
  • Develop training curriculum for various areas, including performing needs analysis and creating training materials, student assessments, facilitator guides, learner guides, job aids, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between the training department and internal IEEE business partners and external vendors as needed
  • Advocate for innovative business practices to enhance individual, group, and corporate productivity and performance
  • Document new and existing classes according to departmental instructional design standards with management approval
  • Stay up-to-date with training trends to ensure training programs incorporate best practices and emphasize skill application to engage employees and trainees
  • Facilitate the execution of enterprise initiatives and change-management projects with a learning component, including the development and delivery of initial courses and ongoing training related to system launches
  • Develop new e-learning courses and update existing courses using Articulate Storyline
  • Create articles and communications for posting on the InsideIEEE intranet for all L&D programs
  • Facilitate New Employee Orientation programs (both live and virtual) and 90-day NEO Follow-up sessions as needed
  • Lead small to medium-sized change-management projects with a learning component, including the development and delivery of initial courses and ongoing training related to system launches
  • Guide client groups in diagnosing and identifying learning objectives and strategies to address business goals
  • Perform various operational tasks associated with learning and development projects/tasks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field (Required)
  • 4-7 years combined training design and delivery experience for multiple curriculum and training audiences (Required)
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline (Required)
  • Candidate should have or be willing to work toward certification in training disciplines from a recognized certification agency (e.g., ASTD, SHRM) (Preferred)

This role reports to the Manager of Learning & Development and performs as an individual contributor. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with current PC and Mac desktop productivity technology/applications, and a familiarity with high technical level skills. Knowledge of adult learning theory concepts and principles is also essential.
