Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistive Technology Facilitator to join our team at Rockwood R-6 School District. The successful candidate will provide leadership and support for the implementation of assistive technology systems to enhance educational outcomes for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and provide leadership to assistive technology implementation to support least restrictive environments.
  • Use data to provide guidance to students to eliminate barriers in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to identify best practices for individual and small groups of students.
  • Use identified research-based interventions to focus on individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with the Technology department to maintain equipment and updates.
  • Review and analyze appropriate systems based on student needs.
  • Participate in district and department meetings.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments for students as needed.
  • Provide input for program development.
  • Support implementation of assessment tools and data management systems.
  • Attend professional development to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Provide staff development opportunities as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in special education or educational related field.
  • Knowledge of implementation of relevant assistive technology systems.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a special education setting.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be able to work in a variety of locations, travel throughout the District, and work non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends. The ability to meet the physical demands of handling a variety of student needs is essential.
