This role is situated within the Reality Labs division, which focuses on uniting individuals globally through innovative Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality technologies.
As a Hardware Validation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to conduct testing and validation for state-of-the-art AR devices.The core duties of a hardware engineer encompass researching, designing, developing, and testing computer or computer-related equipment for various applications, including commercial, industrial, military, or scientific sectors.
A typical hardware engineer is tasked with overseeing the manufacturing and installation of computer or computer-related equipment and components.Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and authorize layout plans, including the types of computers and modifications to peripheral equipment.
- Assess and approve product prototypes, working models, or theoretical models developed through computer simulation.
- Supervise equipment functionality and endorse modifications to ensure systems operate according to specifications.
- Draft comprehensive functional specifications that document the hardware development process and facilitate hardware introduction.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for engineering teams and consult specifications to assess the interface between hardware and software, as well as the operational and performance requirements of the overall system.
- Provide training and support to system designers and end-users.
- Design and develop computer hardware and support peripherals, including CPUs, support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and storage devices.
- Lead technicians, engineering designers, or other technical support personnel as necessary.
Compensation:
$80-85/hr

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics validation or testing engineering.
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering principles.
- Proficient in using standard laboratory testing equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, LCR meter).
- Experience in designing and executing both manual and automated testing, documenting measurements, and maintaining accurate test data records.
- Experience with consumer devices and power consumption testing in a laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with Python programming and data-driven methodologies.
