About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Reading Tutor. As a Reading Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of reading skills in kindergarten through third-grade students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one or paired guidance to students to enhance their reading skills
  • Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
  • Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software
  • Commit to your own growth as a tutor through coaching, training, and professional development
  • Represent Reading Corps at school events and share your experience with the community to raise awareness
Requirements
  • Dependable and have a history of good attendance
  • Able to understand and follow instructions
  • Open to making improvements based on feedback
  • Capable of setting a pace and maintaining a schedule with students
  • Competent with basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
