We are seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
Job Summary
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing and planning the nutritional care of our residents in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. You will work closely with the Food Service Director/Manager to ensure that high-quality food service and nutritional care is provided to our residents.
Responsibilities
* Assess and plan the nutritional care of residents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations
* Collaborate with the Food Service Director/Manager to review and customize menus to meet the dietary needs of residents
* Monitor food temperatures and quality at point of service
* Ensure accurate documentation of resident assessments and progress notes
* Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans of care
* Communicate resident concerns and responses to interventions to interdisciplinary team members and direct care staff
* Involves residents and their families in planning objectives and goals for residents
* Coordinates with the Food Service Director/Manager the distribution of nourishments, supplements, and meals to residents
* Ensures new residents are visited upon admission to obtain a Diet History and food preferences
* Routinely inspects the food service area(s) and practices
* Participates in the long-term care survey process
* Assists the Food Service Director/Manager with purchasing decisions and training Nutrition Services employees
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
* Registered Dietitian certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
* State license or certification as mandated by the state in which employed
* ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred
* Experience in long-term care environment and geriatric nutrition preferred
