Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Transport Paramedic to join our team at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. As a critical care transport team member, you will work collaboratively with our flight nurse and other medical crew members to provide exceptional care to critically ill or injured patients during air or ground transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, manage, and treat patients during transport, utilizing your expertise in emergency medicine to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Complete and document clinical rotations, maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient care.
  • Receive reports from referring hospitals and agencies, gathering all relevant data to inform patient care.
  • Manage patients with individualized care, evaluating the effectiveness of treatment and modifying care as needed.
  • Perform and document procedures, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to provide optimal patient care.
  • Participate in shift safety briefings, communicating personal accountabilities and changes in road or air space conditions to crew members.
  • Ensure operational readiness of assigned transport vehicles and medical equipment, maintaining a high level of preparedness at all times.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, precepting and guiding new transport team members to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
Requirements
  • 3 years of full-time paramedic experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills desired, with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be capable of meeting DHART mandatory physical requirements, as verified by the DHMC Occupational Medicine Service during a pre-employment screening physical examination.
  • Must meet crew weight standard (100kg or less, transport ready, in uniform).
  • Ability to travel unrestricted by air or ground between the U.S. and Canada, with the ability to travel to remote sites.
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician, CCEMT-P, CICP certifications, NRP preferred.
