POSITION SUMMARY
Designs and executes a comprehensive, competitive swimming curriculum aimed at instructing and conditioning participants of the swim team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Effectively leads and mentors swim team members, which includes demonstrating proper stroke techniques, creating tailored workout plans based on individual swimmer levels, managing meet entries, and providing coaching during competitions.
  • Ensures constant vigilance in the pool area, understanding and enforcing safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Takes immediate and appropriate action in response to any suspicious or inappropriate behavior, adhering to mandatory reporting protocols related to safety concerns.
  • Familiarizes oneself with emergency procedures and responds promptly to emergencies in line with organizational policies.
  • Maintains accurate records of incidents, attendance, and any changes in enrollment, and communicates these to the Head Swim Team Coach and Aquatics Director.
  • Holds necessary certifications and completes all required training for the swim team within the specified timeframe.
  • Assists in organizing home swim meets, which includes managing entries and collaborating with parents and volunteers to fulfill meet responsibilities.
  • Travels to off-site swim competitions, which may involve overnight stays.
  • Coordinates and participates in monthly swim team events and the end-of-season celebration.
  • Communicates regularly with parents and guardians regarding swimmer progress and achievements through both verbal and written updates.
  • Adheres to instructions and maintains consistent attendance, arranging for substitutes when necessary and informing the Head Swim Team Coach of any changes.
  • Engages in additional tasks that promote the overall health and well-being of staff and members, including maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across all facilities.
  • Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read, write, communicate effectively, and perform rescue skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must connect well with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the organization's mission and values through actions and behavior.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in competitive swimming and/or coaching or related fields.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
CPR, AED, First Aid Certified
Lifeguard Certification as required for the swim team level
