Position Overview

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 per annum

At Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants, we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional dining experience that combines handcrafted beer with exquisite, made-from-scratch cuisine. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Culinary Operations Manager to lead our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation of food items to ensure adherence to our high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor kitchen staff to foster a productive and positive work environment.
  • Conduct daily assessments of food quality, including taste, appearance, and temperature.
  • Develop weekly schedules for kitchen personnel based on business needs and budgetary guidelines.
  • Manage food costs through effective purchasing practices, inventory management, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with both back-of-house and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Work alongside corporate Culinary and Marketing teams to implement menu updates and promotional initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development for Sous Chefs, including performance evaluations.
  • Participate in weekly management meetings to address team member concerns and operational issues.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by upper management.
Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years of culinary experience in a restaurant setting.
  • A minimum of 3 years in a Sous Chef role or 1 year as a Chef in a different establishment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Food service management certification or equivalent is preferred.
Training Requirements
  • Completion of alcohol and food safety certification (ServSafe) within 60 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of the Manager in Training program at a designated location.
