About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist - Formulations to join our team at Arkema. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and advancing our product development capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Spearhead the development of cutting-edge asphalt emulsifiers, emulsion additives, and related chemistries, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Lab Scale Production: Conduct hands-on lab scale production and emulsion testing, ensuring the highest quality and consistency of our products.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including Innovation, Operations, Quality Assurance, Commercial, and Marketing teams, to drive innovation and growth.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and enhance testing protocols for novel and complex chemistries, ensuring the highest level of technical expertise and excellence in all aspects of scientific inquiry.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Intellectual Property: File invention records to protect intellectual property and maintain accurate records of research and development activities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on evolving technologies and trends in asphalt preservation engineering and materials, ensuring our products remain at the forefront of industry advancements.
Requirements
  • Education: PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline; or MS degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in organic synthesis testing or related surfactant formulations, with experience in laboratory and plant operational support a plus.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures, chemical and physical hazards, and other precautions to promote an effective and safe workplace; strong ability to manage multiple projects; excellent communication skills; proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation; and demonstrated problem-solving ability and innovation in scientific inquiry.
