Job Description

Leidos is seeking a talented Structural Analyst to join our team.

Job Summary

The Structural Analyst will support the Space Systems Division with the development of aerospace products and support equipment. Responsibilities include analysis of structural hardware, assemblies, and complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of aerospace products and support equipment
  • Develop and utilize finite element models and simulations
  • Apply analysis tools to produce models and perform analyses for aerospace-related products
  • Use hand calculations and detailed stress analyses utilizing industry-standard software programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • At least 4-8 years of direct experience performing structural analysis
  • Proven working knowledge of Femap, NASTRAN, Abaqus, and/or ANSYS software
  • Ability to write technical reports and present results to a multi-disciplined team
  • Residency in the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a lead position, maintaining an area of responsibility over technical aspects of project execution
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Experience working on projects to support DoD, NASA, or the commercial space industry, and working as part of a multi-organizational development team
