Position Overview:
At Vision Integrated Partners, we are in search of a skilled PRN Registered Nurse specializing in surgical services to become a vital part of our healthcare team.
Role Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse will play a crucial role in the coordination and daily operations of the surgical facility, adhering to established federal, state, and accreditation standards as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Key Duties Include:
- Providing care for patients in preparation for surgical procedures.
- Monitoring vital signs and continuously assessing patient recovery from anesthesia.
- Assisting anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical professionals as needed.
Essential Competencies:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following abilities:
- Proficient in collecting clinical data related to patient care.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Understanding of legal and policy boundaries in nursing practice.
Patient Care Responsibilities:
- Assessing, planning, and evaluating patient care to achieve desired outcomes while ensuring safe practices in accordance with facility policies.
- Conducting ongoing assessments of patient status upon admission and throughout their stay.
- Coordinating nursing interventions to facilitate successful discharge readiness.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhering to all facility policies and procedures while delivering patient care.
- Demonstrating the ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
Patient Education:
- Tailoring learning experiences to meet the patient's understanding and readiness to learn.
- Participating in the evaluation of nursing care provided.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assuming charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Demonstrating knowledge and competence in designated nursing skills.
- Conducting thorough reviews of medical records and ensuring proper documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state.
- If BLS and ACLS certifications are not current upon hire, completion of required courses within 90 days is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of experience in Preoperative nursing is preferred.
