Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional care to patients experiencing psychiatric/mental health disorders in our adult and youth Partial Hospital Programs, inpatient, and clinics. This is a 0.5 FTE position, Monday - Friday, 8a-430p, with opportunities to float to multiple PrairieCare locations throughout the metro.
Responsibilities- Provide non-judgmental, patient-centered care that is sensitive to the patient's developmental age and diversity.
- Administer medications and refills in an accurate manner, verifying allergies and contraindications, and monitoring for side effects.
- Perform interventions as ordered by physicians, including lab draws, EKG, UDS, Genesight, and HcG testing, and document results.
- Provide care management for patients, utilizing psychosocial, physical, and behavioral assessments, and individualized directives.
- Maintain confidentiality and provide safe handoffs to providers.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and collaborate to ensure safe patient care.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing School, Nursing Degree required. BSN Preferred.
- Current licensure as an RN with the Minnesota State Board of Nursing is required.
- Evidence of 1 year of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience within the past two years preferred.
- Ability to communicate and make safe judgment calls in stressful situations.
- Ability to multi-task, use time efficiently, and prioritize appropriately.
