EMT Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our team at North Georgia Technical College. The successful candidate will assist faculty members with laboratory work, maintain inventory, and supervise students in the laboratory setting.

• Assist faculty members with laboratory work, including preparation, maintenance, and operation of equipment
• Maintain inventory and requisition supplies as needed
• Supervise students in the laboratory setting and assist with instruction
• Tutor or mentor students as needed
• Accompany instructor/students to clinical settings and evaluate student performance
• Clean labs as needed
• Obtain materials needed for classes, including texts and other materials
• Maintain qualifications for employment as described by TCSG and accreditation standards
• Follow all deadlines as established by North Georgia Technical College
• Follow rules and regulations as mandated by TCSG policy manual and North Georgia Technical College

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of State-approved Advanced EMT or higher course(s) and National Registry certification
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant work experience
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certification required
• Ability to obtain BLS Instructor certification within the first 6 months of hire

• Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and effective time management skills
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds
