Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). As a member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Patient Population: Post Cardiology Interventional, Post Vascular Surgical/Interventional, Advanced heart Failure. True Cardiac ICU- CRRT, Impella, Swan, AIBP, etc. **No open hearts, CABG, or ECMO. This unit operates as a Cardiac Universal Bed (CUB) in that they have Cardiac ICU and Cardiac Telemetry patients. All nurses on the unit must be comfortable caring for both.

Requirements
  • Candidates MUST have minimum of 1-year recent, full time ICU RN experience.
  • Cardiac ICU and/or Cardiovascular ICU/CVICU specific RN experience preferred.

What You'll Do

As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities will include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. You will also conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.

What Will Make You Successful in The Role

A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understanding of hospital procedures and rules. Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing. Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties. Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking. Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
