Position Overview
We are pleased to present the opportunity for a Registered Nurse within the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) at Norman Regional Health System. Our PCCU team is committed to delivering exceptional care to patients facing intricate cardiovascular challenges requiring intermediate to critical care. This includes managing patients post-cardiac surgery and those recovering from interventions such as CABG and cardiac catheterization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, conducting thorough assessments and analyzing patient data.
- Set clear objectives, devise care plans, prioritize patient needs, and execute nursing interventions.
- Safely delegate nursing tasks while providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care, and assess the effectiveness of interventions.
- Perform advanced nursing duties that leverage skills and knowledge acquired beyond basic nursing education.
- Explore opportunities for professional advancement within the organization.
Qualifications
Educational Background
- A Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
Professional Experience
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
(The above qualifications may be satisfied through a combination of education and experience.)
Licensure and Certifications
- A valid Oklahoma Registered Nurse license or an active Multistate RN license is required.
- Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) training is mandatory during orientation before patient care begins.
- Ongoing maintenance of BLS certification is required throughout employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training must be completed within six months of hire.
- Continuous ACLS certification is required for the duration of employment.
