Job Title: Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation Group in Owings Mills, MD. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing design and drafting support for water resources aspects of highway design, site, and facility projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide design and drafting support for water resources aspects of highway design, site, and facility projects, including storm drain systems, SWM facilities, erosion and sediment control, and other related aspects.
  • Assist in performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and technical writing to prepare reports and permit applications, including those for wetland and waterway construction, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
  • Assist in performing field reviews of project sites to determine existing conditions to aid in project design.
  • Provide technical assistance for other design projects as needed, including stream restorations and bridge scour studies.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, emphasis in water resources or environmental engineering.
  • E.I.T. preferred.
  • 1-3 years of transportation-related experience, including grading, storm drain systems, culverts, open channel flow, stormwater management (SWM), and erosion and sediment control.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related Bentley programs is preferred.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, StormCAD, or other water resource-related programs is a plus.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply Maryland and Federal design codes, AASHTO, SHA Highway Drainage Manual, MDE Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control Requirements.
