About the Role

As an EMT with Exceptional Medical Transportation, you will play a vital role in transporting and caring for clients to various appointments, hospitals, schools, and facilities. This position requires a high level of dedication and a commitment to providing top-notch patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with fellow EMTs and management to ensure exceptional patient care
  2. Be flexible with scheduling as emergency services operate on a 24-hour clock
  3. Stay up-to-date with current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses, certifications, licenses, and registrations, as well as company policies and procedures
  4. Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and the public
  5. Recognize and treat medical conditions with appropriate techniques, equipment, and knowledge of State and County protocols, and perform basic life support procedures under Department of Health regulations
  6. Operate and drive the ambulance in accordance with safety policies and laws, showing due regard for all applicable State and Regional Regulations
  7. Assume responsibility for cleanliness of the vehicle, stock equipment, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and ensure all used equipment is replaced at the end of the shift
  8. Gather patient billing information and obtain appropriate billing signatures
  9. Prepare and submit a pre-hospital patient care report
  10. Respond promptly to assignments as required by the Dispatch Center and have a working knowledge of company communication systems and policies
Requirements
  • NJ EMT State Certification or NREMT (minimum)
  • Valid NJ Driver's License (for at least 2 years) and an acceptable driving record
  • Valid Provider BLS certification
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 150 lbs. or more
  • Successful completion of the company's orientation and training
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
