POSITION SUMMARY

The Hygiene Maintenance Associate is a proactive and dedicated individual responsible for ensuring cleanliness across production lines and facilities. This role involves the systematic removal of waste and debris while adhering to stringent manufacturing standards and safety protocols. The position operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to work autonomously and follow established guidelines. Embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive workplace is essential in this role. The Hygiene Maintenance Associate reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute sanitation checklists in accordance with established procedures.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize all production machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness in office areas through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as required.
  • Ensure that all food contact surfaces are maintained in a sanitary condition.
  • Dust and clean overhead racking and equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of restroom facilities.
  • Replenish dispensers for towels, hand soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizers, and other supplies as directed.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning solutions to effectively remove stains and maintain surfaces.
  • Support the production team with herb packing as needed.
  • Report any safety hazards or food safety issues to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English and/or Spanish.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Valid work authorization in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • At least one year of experience in sanitation within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commitment to promoting a safe work environment through teamwork and effective sanitation training.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to safety standards and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisory staff.
  • Reliable transportation is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regular exposure to wet and humid conditions.
  • Frequent interaction with moving mechanical parts and potentially hazardous cleaning chemicals.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels are typical in the work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs, with occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk; frequent use of hands for handling and reaching.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, with the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
